APR 13 (PRINTWORDS NEWS)- Apple the Cupertino based technology giant has finally unveiled the latest version of its award winning video editing suite aka Final Cut Pro X. According to Apple, the app has been “rebuilt from the ground up” to gel with the Mac OS X “Snow Leopard OS “and it is “as revolutionary as the first version of Final Cut Pro was when introduced in 1999”. A mega event was held in Las Vegas to launch the software. The software adds 64 bit OS and can take benefits of the multiple CPU cores. What it means is that the new app can access more than 4GB of RAM and it will add to its efficiency. The video editors who have to cope with large high-definition files will appreciate this feature indeed.

The last version of the software was released in 2009 and FCP’s arch rival Adobe Premiere Pro has been offering 64 bit support for years. Apple says that Final Cut Pro X is capable of handling 4K HD clips which is a very new video standard sneaking into movie theaters. The interface of the software has also been given an overhaul and it looks more like iMovie. New exciting features like auto image stabilization, instant background rendering have been introduced in the new version.

It is expected that Final Cut Pro X will be sold at a much cheaper price than rivals like Adobe Premiere Pro. The senior video applications engineer of Apple as well as the software’s architect Peter Steinauer said that the release of the Final Cut Pro X will give Avid and Premiere Pro a run for their money. The video editors would be happy to know that Final Cut Pro X adds some cool syncing features that make accidental unsyncing of audio and video nearly impossible. Those who are in a hurry to edit video will edit the background rendering feature and its support for editing media even before the import process is complete.

Apple claims that FCP X offers resolution-independent playback which means videos of varying dimensions can be churned as identical resolution footage. It will be offered as a direct download from Mac App Store said Apple. Apple says it keeps track of 2 million licensed users of FCP and after the heavy discount offered by the company that number may jump up. It looks like Adobe has to get back to drawing table to rev up Premiere Pro once more.
