San Diego, Feb 14, (PRINTWORDS NEWS)- In a bizarre incident, a Taxi Driver plowed into a bunch of revelers standing outside a San Diego nightclub in the wee hours of Saturday. More than two dozen people were left injured with a woman whose leg had to be amputated after the cab pinned her against a wall outside the club Stingaree.

The officials said that the driver told them that he blacked out before veering off the road and ramming into the people standing outside popular night club in San Diego’s Gaslamp district. None of the injured were diagnosed with life threatening injuries as most of them got away with minor cuts and bruises including the unidentified driver, who was later mobbed and beaten up by the angry passers by. The officials stated that the driver might have fallen asleep although investigations are still on whether the cabbie was under the affect of alcohol or not. The panic stricken club-hoppers who were standing outside the hunt were left terrified. “We saw a girl crying and we saw a female with a tooth missing, bloodied up and crying,” said club-hopper Jerel Duncan. “We were like, what’s going on? It was just hysteria, crazy and then we saw the actual cab on the curb.” The cab was reportedly traveling at a speed of 25 mph when it lost control and crashed into the people in the wee hours of Saturday.

The police officials are yet to disclose the name of the cab driver. “At this point, no charges are pending,” said Police Lt. Rick O’Hanlon. The police refused to divulge any further developments. Sobriety tests will be conducted on the driver although initial reports suggest that the 4o-something-old driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
