Condredge Holloway Revisited In ESPN

Feb 21, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Condredge Holloway finally got the recognition that he deserved over the years, as ESPN aired the documentary “The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway story” on Sunday night. A premiere of the film took place on Wednesday at the Tennessee Theater where numerous friends and family members of Condredge Holloway flocked in to revisit the ups and downs the the first black quarterback to helm an SEC team had to go through. The story closely knits the tale of the quarterback and the hurdles he had to face in a racially instigated society.

Condredge Holloway, who vanished from the spotlight was revisited by the viewers on Sunday when ESPN aired the documentary “The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway story”. The quarterback, who took the 70′s by a storm thereby inspiring a number of black athletes to take part in the form of game has always been respected for his sheer talent and athleticism. He was also the starting QB os Tennessee from 1972-1974. The amazing athlete, who astonished the critics with his talent (he excelled in baseball and basketball as well) vanished from the pages of history till this month when a movie based on the series of Holloway’s experience hit the Theaters.

In an era, when Condredge had to face a stream of hurdles being the only lack quarterback, he seemingly overcame all the difficulties and shut his critics up, as he stormed the sports arena displaying his talent as a sportsman and as an athlete. Sunday night’s show on ESPN made the viewers witness the story of a legend, that was nearly written off the pages of history.
