Esperanza Spalding Wins Grammy For Best New Artist

Staples Center, Feb 14, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Much anticipated 53rd Grammy Awards took place at Staples Center of Sunday and who’s who of the music fraternity graced the occasion with elan. The gorgeous celebrities walked the red carpet of the grand event and they dazzled on the party as they wore some of the best attires especially, for this day. 109 awards were presented at the spectacular event and the renowned names of the American music fraternity performed in the ceremony to woo the audience. American multi-instrumentalist best known as a jazz bassist and singer, Esperanza Spalding won the award for Best New Artist.

Esperanza Spalding managed to beat renowned celebrities like Drake, Justin Bieber, Mumford & Sons and also Florence & The Machine and won the award for her wonderful contribution in the music industry. It can be called as one of the biggest gasps of the Sunday’s Grammy Awards as everybody felt teen sensation Justin Bieber would win the prestigious award. The singer took the stage and nabbed the award for the Best New Artist at the Sunday night’s show. The singer appeared on the stage with pink shoes and green halter gown. While accepting the award, the “Junjo” singer thanked all her fans for immense love and support.

Esperanza Spalding said that she would not have much time to speak. Hence at first thanked the Grammy academy for nominating her in this prestigious category. She even thanked the “incredible community” and “family of musicians” who were present at the function and also who the renowned people who were her inspiration to choose music as her career. Esperanza Spalding also thanked her friends in Portland, her colleagues and her family who had always been there for her. She said, “”I take this honor to heart so sincerely, and I’ll do my damndest to make a whole lot of great music for all of you” before signing off from the stage.
