Former University Of Louisville Player Troy Jackson Dies At 35

Feb 21, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Former University of Louisville basketball player Troy Jackson passed away on Saturday, reports confirmed. The player nicknamed as “Escalade” took his last breathe on Saturday night in Los Angeles. He was 35. Originally descending from Jamaica, Troy Jackson is the brother of NBA great Marck Jackson. His nephew Mark Jackson Jr. is currently in a walk in with the Cardinals.

Mark Jackson Jr., the son of the great NBA star and sports analyst Mark Johnson, took to his twitter account to express his grief over his uncle’s untimely demise. “2day we lost a great man of God in my Uncle @Escalade53 but it consoles my heart to know that he is in a better place WE WILL ALL MISS YOU!,” the younger Jackson Tweeted on Sunday. The former University of Louisville basketball player’s career span has been a pretty short one, stretching for a period of two season. The 6 foot 9 inch player who weighed 300 pounds appeared in 20 games for University of Louisville form 1996-1998. He averaged 3 points and 1.6 rebounds.He gained widespread popularity during his appearance in And-1 Streetball Mixtape  Tour. His untimely death has brought a shock-wave in the basketball arena.

The cause of Troy Jackson’s tragic death at a tender age of 35 is yet to be known. As of now, no official statement has been issued from University of Louisville. Some basketball web portals are claiming that the player died in his sleep, although no official confirmation over the reason of his demise has been issued yet. Although his career was a shortlived one, he was immensely popular amongst the fans.
