APR 20 (PRINTWORDS NEWS)- Fujifilm has unveiled the new digital compact shooter FinePix Z90 which is going to replace the FinePix Z70. It is clearly aimed at the youth with social networking specific features. The 14.2 MP camera comes with a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens which features Digital Image Stabilization. At the rear of the model there is a 3.0-inch LCD touch-screen with spanking new Dual Direction GUI. It also shoots 720p HD movies with ease.
It is quite evident that Fujifilm has packed in the most popular features in this model instead of coking it with features. The Z90 offer 8 shooting modes including the simple Auto and a program mode. The Scene Recognition Auto works the best. The Z90 does an excellent job of merging images commonly called Panorama with its Motion Panorama function. It basically takes three shots and blends them into one. The camera also offers some basic photo quality adjustment features. The camera despite being priced affordably feels solid in hands and its chrome trim looks sleek and cool.
The FinePix Z90 comes with an intuitive menu and the LCD screen is seriously responsive. The textured thumb pad and raised surface of the camera makes taking blur free shots easier. The dedicated movie record button is a nice addition. The camera offers ISO 3200 but above ISO 1600 images become almost unusable. The camera’s auto-white balance system works fine and you can also select from six presets. Image quality remains good overall as long as you keep the ISO levels at the lower side.
