Caracas, Venezuela, July 26, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) The 56th President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez has recently announced that he will seek re-election next year despite his cancer. The indomitable spirit of the President has been appreciated by the people of the country as well as the politicians across. On Saturday, the 56 year old politician returned back to Venezuela, after his chemotherapy treatment in Cuba. In the press conference, Hugo Chavez told the reporters that the doctors did not find any malignant cells in his body and he is recuperating now.

The Venezuelan President gave an interview to one of the leading newspapers of the country, where he said that he did not even think for even a single time of pulling him out of the post of presidency. Of late the opposite parties and media outlets were speculating that Hugo Chavez will not be able to run for the election next year, owing to his health issues. However, the President dismissed all such speculation by saying that his weakness has instilled in him the desire to live, fight against all oddities and overcome the challenges in his life. Just a month back, he announced that the doctors have removed the malignant tumor from his body. However, the president did not specify the type of cancer he was diagnosed with. Speaking about his health and treatment, Hugo Chavez said that he will have to undergo chemotherapy for some more time. “Still the risk exists, and that’s why I was given chemotherapy all week in several sessions”, he said.

When asked about his decision to seek re-election, Hugo Chavez said, “I have medical reasons, scientific reasons, human reasons, reasons of love and political reasons to keep myself at the front of the government and the candidacy with more force than before”. The Venezuelan President seemed optimistic, when he said that the doctors checked his organ to find if there is any metastasis but they found nothing.
