Marion Jones Signs Two-Year Deal With Tulsa Shock

Feb 23, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Former Olympic and world class sprinter Marion Jones has signed a multi-year contract deal to remain a member of WNBA‘s Tulsa Shock, the officials of Tulsa announced on Tuesday. The officials kept a mum over the deal as no details of the contract have been released officially as of yet.

Marion Jones, the fallen sprinter who rose into fame in the late 90′s, signed a one year contract deal with Tusca Shock in 2010. The athlete appeared in 34 games with an average of 3.4 points with 1.5 rebounds, whilst playing for an average of 9.4 minutes per game. After her contract ended with the club, head coach and general manager of Tulsa Shock – Nolan Richardson made up his mind of re-signing the former sprinter. Marion Jones finally signed the two-year contract on Tuesday. The details of the contract were not revealed. Whilst speaking to the media and confirming her presence in Tulsa Schock, a visibly overwhelmed Marion Jones said, “I am thrilled to return to the Tulsa Shock and the WNBA.” Nolan Richardson, the head coach and General Manager of Tulsa Shock said, “We are very happy and proud to have Marion Jones back on our team in 2011. She came on strong last year and she’s looking forward to starting another season with that experience under her belt.”

Marion Jones is best know for winning five medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The medals were later taken away after she was found guilty of taking steroid. Since then Marion Jones has ventured her career in WNBA.
