FEB 26 (PRINTWORDS NEWS)- Veteran Hollywood actor Michael Douglas got embroiled in a fiasco with a paparazzi photographer in London recently after the latter allegedly punched his actress wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. The Basic Instinct actor jumped to defend his wife. They just returned after visiting Prince Charles who honored the actress with Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her contribution to the movie industry. They returned to the hotel and in no time the photographers and reporters encircled the duo. They were reportedly shoving and pushing to get closer view of the actor couple.

When the Welsh actress was trying to make an exit amidst the rush a paparazzi allegedly touched her face. She was infuriated and shouted back for the arrogance of the person. She said “How dare you touch me! I want a police officer right now. He punched me! He punched me in my face.” On hearing this, her actor spouse was also angry and he grabbed the paparazzi and threatened him on the spot. The paparazzi however said he did not touch the actress. The entire episode was filmed. It was an unwanted development for the couple.

The 41 year old actress who was shocked at the arrogance of the paparazzi asked for police protection. It is not known whether that was provided to her later. A representative for the actor said that the day was otherwise very nice for the duo and their kids. After returning from the Buckingham Palace it was the least that they had anticipated.
