It is almost impossible for any rock music fan to forget the contribution the legendary Beatles band has left on music of the yesteryears. In a recent incident, iconic singer and former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney was honored at the White House. It is a milestone in his prolific career for sure. The singer was warded the coveted Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the president of USA Barack Obama. The event took place last month and was broadcasted last night on PBS. The program was watched by millions of Beatles fans and it turned out to be a star studded affair in the proper sense of the term.
At the White House a musical concert was arranged and a number of reputed music artists including the Jonas brothers played from bestselling Beatles tracks to honor the legendary singer who was present there. Before PBS could air the event the fragments of the ceremony went online via YouTube. Before the music bands and artists started playing the all time favorite Beatles tracks, President Barack Obama gave a motivational speech.
Paul McCartney was visibly moved by the honor paid to him by the first couple of USA and the numerous music artist of present time. He was quite energetic even at 68 and the viewers found him enchanting as ever. The first lady and her daughters were also seen humming his hit tracks and he dedicated a track to the wife of the president. The President was also mesmerized by the performance.
